I now have a name and a Game Board
Taking a break from writing the rule and trying to reorganize them I figured I would work on the game board graphics for a while. In the process of working on the board I came up with the name of the game. I was looking for sample graphics of French sailing vessels to use as a model and I found a list of classes of ships in the 1700′s French navy. One of them was called the Magnanime and that name just struck a chord with me. I liked the sound of it.
So the name of the game is: The Mutiny of the Magnanime
I also finished the game board, or at least the version of it that will be used with this early Game Chef version of the game. If I ever do more with this thing it will most likely change, but I think this version is good enough for the one week challenge version. What do you all think out there?

Just want to say that I’m really digging the visual presentation you’ve developed for this so far. You’ve managed to keep the elements on the board clean and distinct, but still very evocative and flavorful.

Thank you. I was also please with how the look turned out, not it’s just a matter of how the rest of it works out. We will see.

Good name choice..had to go look it up, now i know more about that ship then I honestly should :)
Like the board it gives off the nautical vibe very well (at least I learned something from my years in the Navy).

the board looks pretty good. i haven’t had to tackle game board presentation before but i’ll give you some general design feedback…
- first, it looks great for such little time. huzzah!
- the muted color palette looks good.
- the boat illustration is fairly “playful” is that intended?
- if you’re going to run a tri-color on the voyage line, i would desaturate it a lot. at present, it’s the first thing you see.
- on a sim. note, the stars are much more graphically dominant than the fleurs. some white highlights in the fleurs would help them pop or a non-blue background would help them stand out.
congrats.
